The Department of German Studies at Birmingham enjoys a long-standing national and international reputation as one of the best in the country. It offers an exceptionally broad and flexible curriculum, with options in German politics, history and culture as well as business German and historical and modern linguistics. Whilst many of its students have studied German before they come to Birmingham, the department also offer an intensive course in Beginners' German.
