German in the UK

What is the most fun way to learn German? Is it through your stomach perhaps?

Year 7 pupils at Langley Park School in Bromley would agree. As part of the Active Kids Get Cooking initiative, they took part in a 10-week Food Technology programme run through the medium of German.

Here, the pupils cooked real German specialities using authentic recipes. They also tasted a range of German foods, and learnt how to describe them and give opinions on them. Additionally, they researched aspects of German cuisine and presented their findings to their class. Finally, the pupils even had the chance to adapt and design their own recipes.
